Scores of people gathered in squares and entertainment venues all over Turkey to joyfully say goodbye to 2024 and welcome the new year with enthusiasm and new resolutions.

Celebrations in İzmir

In İzmir, while some residents celebrated the new year at Alsancak’s Kordon, an iconic seafront promenade, others enjoyed music from the 1980s and 1990s at a major fair event with a DJ.

Resident's Perspective

"The New Year celebrations are going splendidly," said İlker Aydoğan, a local. "I am impressed with the organization. My wish is for the new year to bring happiness, love, and peace to everyone."

New Year Festivities in Cappadocia and Kuşadası

Cappadocia, a major tourism destination in Turkey, hosted spectacular New Year's celebrations for both local and international tourists. The underground entertainment centers carved into volcanic tuff were a particular highlight. Additionally, Kuşadası in Aydın welcomed 2025 with a vibrant street party featuring DJ performances.

Sea Entrance Ceremony in Antalya

In Antalya, a group of individuals marked the beginning of the new year by entering the sea, holding Turkish flags, and spreading a message of peace to the world.

Hope for Peace in 2025

Reflecting on the sea entrance tradition, Nail Avcı expressed, "We are once again welcoming the new year at sea, symbolizing peace with our Turkish flag. May 2025 be a year of peace for all."
