President Erdoğan's Announcement Leads to Surge in Applications for Family and Youth Fund
Following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent declaration of the nationwide expansion of the Family and Youth Fund, a remarkable 17,192 couples have submitted applications for support.
Supporting Families and Young People
The Family and Youth Fund, initiated by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, is designed to bolster the institution of family, shield young individuals from societal hazards, and contribute to their growth and progress.
Interest-Free Loan Support Extended Across Turkey
President Erdoğan affirmed, "We are broadening the interest-free loan assistance for young couples to cover all 81 provinces in our nation." In response, couples nationwide, particularly from Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, and Ankara, have eagerly applied for the fund.
Assistance for Earthquake-Affected Provinces
Applications for the fund commenced on Feb. 15, 2024, specifically targeting couples in regions impacted by the devastating 2023 earthquakes, primarily centered in Kahramanmaraş.
Financial Support and Training Services
The fund offers interest-free loans to couples embarking on their marital journey, featuring a repayment term of 48 months, a two-year grace period, and a total sum of TL 150,000 ($4,211). Moreover, couples benefit from pre-marriage and post-marriage educational programs and counseling services.
Eligibility Criteria for Couples
To qualify for the fund, couples must be between 18 and 29 years old, not possess real estate assets, and their income over the past six months, as well as the last month's income, should not exceed 2.3 times the minimum wage. Additionally, applicants must submit their request between two to six months before their official wedding date.
