Syrians in Turkey are returning to their country: Border gates are crowded

Syrians who want to return to their country continue to cross the Cilvegözü, Yayladağı and Zeytindalı border gates in Hatay. Syrians who took refuge in Turkey during the civil war are using the three border gates in Hatay to return to their country after the overthrow of the 61-year Baath regime. Syrians who go to the Cilvegözü Border Gate in the Reyhanlı district are lining up in the barrier corridor set up by the gendarmerie to maintain order.

Gendarmerie provides support

Taking precautions at the border gate, gendarmerie teams are paying close attention to Syrian children returning to their country with their families. Some of the Syrians returning to their country are carrying bags in their hands, while others are carrying household items such as beds, furniture, and washing machines in their wheelbarrows.

The Turkish Red Crescent and some aid organizations are serving hot soup and various treats to Syrian families near the Cilvegözü Border Gate, gendarmerie teams taking precautions in the area, and members of the press. The Immigration Administration Mobile Service Unit vehicles deployed at the Cilvegözü and Yayladağı border gates are also contributing to the acceleration of Syrians’ exit procedures.

Syrians, who have formed a crowd at the Öncüpınar Customs Gate in Kilis, are going to their countries after their procedures at the Repatriation Center.
