The auction also featured the sale of the Wicked Witch's black hat for $2.9 million, contributing to a total of $38.6 million earned from the entertainment auction.

Storied History of the Famous Shoes

These sequin-covered pumps, one of the four surviving pairs from the 1939 classic, have a remarkable history. Stolen almost two decades ago, the shoes resurfaced in 2018 after a long search involving the FBI. The thief, Terry Martin, confessed to taking the shoes, believing they were adorned with real rubies.
