The arrival of the "Goodness Train" in Herat province was met with a warm welcome, with Türkiye's Herat Consul General Sinan Ilhan, Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) Deputy Secretary General Şükrü Can, Afghan Red Crescent Vice President Şahabettin Dilaver, and various Turkish and Afghan officials present to receive the aid.

Significant Aid Delivery

The train transported a variety of aid, including 4,000 tents, 43,000 blankets, 5,000 family kitchen sets, 10,000 food packages, as well as flour, clothing, hygiene products, and shelter materials, amounting to approximately 730 tons of humanitarian assistance for distribution to families in need across Afghanistan.

Support for Harsh Winter Conditions

In a statement released by Türkiye's Embassy in Kabul, it was emphasized that the aid not only consisted of essential items like medicine and food but also included supplies to help the Afghan population endure the severe winter weather conditions.

Nationwide Distribution Efforts

The allocated aids are set to be distributed in all of Afghanistan's 34 provinces in the upcoming days to reach as many vulnerable families as possible.

Emphasizing Türkiye's enduring commitment to standing by Afghanistan in times of need, the statement conveyed that the "Goodness Train" missions symbolize the unwavering support of the Turkish people for their Afghan counterparts. The train embarked on its journey from Ankara to Afghanistan on December 20 under the management of AFAD.
