Yusuf Tancan Celebrates 16th Anniversary of e-Government Gateway
Yusuf Tancan, the acting president of the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, has announced that the e-Government Gateway, which was launched on Dec. 18, 2008, is marking its 16th year of operation in 2024. Tancan highlighted the significant growth of the e-Government Gateway over the years, noting that it currently offers 8,379 digital services from 1,079 institutions.
Continuous Evolution and Growing User Base
Tancan, speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), emphasized the continuous evolution and increased quality of the e-Government Gateway. He pointed out that the platform now boasts 66.6 million users and has seen over 4 billion logins since the beginning of the year. Notably, more than 327,000 logins were made via Togg.
International Recognition and Success
Highlighting the international success of the e-Government Gateway, Tancan underlined its role as Türkiye's digital representation on the global stage. He mentioned that the platform has achieved high rankings in reports published by the European Commission and the United Nations.
Advancements in Global Rankings
Tancan revealed that according to the European Commission's e-Government Benchmark Report, Türkiye secured the 10th position out of 37 countries. Furthermore, in the United Nations e-Government Survey, Türkiye climbed 21 places in the E-Government Development Index, now ranking 27th among 193 countries, making it the fastest-progressing nation in the index.

Türkiye has outperformed many European countries in delivering public services digitally and has set an example with its e-government portals, showcasing significant progress in digital transformation within public administration.

Tancan emphasized Türkiye's commitment to innovation in the digital realm, highlighting the continuous efforts to enhance e-government services and applications, positioning the country as a strong competitor in the global digital landscape.

Regular “Digital Türkiye and Bureaucracy Reduction” meetings have played a pivotal role in shaping Türkiye’s digital future, fostering collaboration and interoperability among various stakeholders. The significant increase in integrated institutions, services, users, and logins reflects the success of these efforts.
Focus on User Satisfaction and Improvement
The e-Government Gateway's focus on user-centricity and high satisfaction rates has been a driving force behind its continuous development. Tancan highlighted the platform's commitment to improving based on citizen feedback and revealed that user satisfaction has consistently remained at 95% over the past three years.
Future Plans and Mobile Application
Tancan announced plans to introduce new integrated services for users in the coming year and emphasized the significant role of the e-Government Gateway mobile application, through which 78% of the usage of integrated services occurs. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of both the website and the mobile application in providing seamless digital services.
