Japan and Turkey friendship to be celebrated with a show in Istanbul

Japan and Türkiye will celebrate their friendship with a cultural show in Istanbul, featuring the State Folk Dance Ensemble and the Japanese Drum Group Wadaiko. The event, marking the 100th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations, will take place on December 5 at AKM. Royal figures and ambassadors will attend.

'100th Anniversary Ceremony and Cultural Show of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Türkiye' will be held at AKM

The 100th Anniversary Ceremony and Cultural Show of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Turkey will be held on December 5 at 19:30 in the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) Theater Hall with the participation of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Royal Highness Princess Akishino, Japanese Ambassador Katsumata Takahiko, Japanese Consul General Kasahara Kenichi and other important figures who played a role in the history of relations and friendship between the two countries. 

Within the scope of the program; the dance show of the State Folk Dance Ensemble, the Sai drum concert of the Japanese Drum Group Wadaiko and the joint show of the two ensembles will meet the audience.

Founded at the University of Tokyo, the all-male professional group Wadaiko, operating under the slogan “Fun resonates!”, has performed at major international venues.

The group has performed at numerous cultural events organized by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To date, they have performed a total of two thousand shows in 35 different countries.
